National Indigenous Australians Agency.

The National Indigenous Australians Agency is the federal government body responsible for coordinating policy, programmes and services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples across Australia.

Established in July 2019 under Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the agency operates as part of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet, replacing the department’s Indigenous Affairs Group. It manages whole-of-government coordination on Indigenous affairs, working across policy development, programme design and service delivery. The inaugural chief executive was retired Vice Chief of the Defence Force Ray Griggs; Jody Broun took over the role in February 2022. The agency reports to the Minister for Indigenous Australians, currently Malarndirri McCarthy.

The agency appears in Field Notes: Tiwi rangers complete eradication of tropical fire ants from Melville Island.
