Territory Natural Resource Management is an independent nonprofit organisation based in Darwin, Northern Territory, that coordinates environmental programmes across northern Australia.
The organisation works with Indigenous ranger groups, landholders and government agencies to manage natural resources in one of the continent’s most ecologically significant regions. The Northern Territory encompasses vast tracts of savanna, wetlands and coastal systems that support high biodiversity but face pressures from invasive species, altered fire regimes and climate change. TNRM provides technical support, funding coordination and project management for conservation work that often combines Western science with Traditional Ecological Knowledge. Its partners include Tiwi Land Council ranger teams, who have worked on biosecurity threats such as tropical fire ants on Melville Island.
It appears in Field Notes: Tiwi rangers complete eradication of tropical fire ants from Melville Island.
