APRIL.

April is the fourth month of the year in both the Julian and Gregorian calendars, consisting of 30 days.

In the Northern Hemisphere, April falls during spring, when lengthening days and warming temperatures mark the transition from winter dormancy to renewed growth. Many migratory bird species return during this month, plants begin active growth, and wildlife breeding activity intensifies across temperate regions. In the Southern Hemisphere, April corresponds to autumn, bringing shorter days and cooler conditions as the natural world prepares for winter. This seasonal opposition means that April represents fundamentally different ecological moments depending on latitude, making it significant for naturalists, field researchers and expedition planners tracking phenological patterns and seasonal wildlife behaviour.
