Brooke Raboutou.

Brooke Raboutou is an American professional rock climber who competes internationally in lead climbing and bouldering, and who climbs at the cutting edge of difficulty outdoors. Born in April 2001, she won the silver medal in the combined bouldering and lead event at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Raboutou specialises in competition climbing, sport climbing and bouldering. In 2025 she became the first woman to redpoint a route graded 5.15c (9b+) with her ascent of Excalibur, placing her among a small group of climbers—male or female—operating at that grade. Her achievement underscored the rising standard in women’s sport climbing, where the barrier between demonstration and sustained performance at 9b+ continues to shift. She competes on the international circuit and trains across both indoor and outdoor disciplines, balancing the explosive, problem-solving demands of bouldering with the endurance and tactics required for lead.

Raboutou is mentioned in Field Notes: Janja Garnbret climbs Bibliographie (9b+) at Céüse, which discusses the context around elite women climbing at the 9b+ grade.
