The Channel was a music venue in Boston, Massachusetts, operating as part of South Boston’s underground arts community during the late twentieth century.
The venue occupied waterfront space in an area of Boston better known for its port facilities than its cultural offerings, yet it became a significant stop for touring musicians and a gathering point for the city’s alternative music scene. Like many urban venues of its era, The Channel provided a raw, industrial setting that suited the punk, new wave and independent rock acts that performed there, contributing to Boston’s reputation as a testing ground for emerging American bands during the 1980s and early 1990s.
The Channel is mentioned in Episode: The world’s longest triathlon ends on Everest and Episode: Winning Alone season 8: 74 days solo on Grizzly Mountain, with Clay Hayes.
