Bezos Earth Fund.

The Bezos Earth Fund is a climate change organisation established in 2020 to finance environmental and conservation initiatives worldwide.

Founded by Jeff Bezos, the American businessman who built Amazon into the world’s largest e-commerce and cloud computing company, the fund represents one of the most substantial private commitments to climate action. Bezos, who served as Amazon’s chief executive until 2021 and was recognised as the world’s wealthiest person from 2017 to 2021, created the fund during a period when his net worth exceeded $150 billion. The organisation channels resources toward projects addressing biodiversity loss, ecosystem protection and climate mitigation. Beyond Amazon, Bezos’s ventures include the aerospace company Blue Origin, ownership of The Washington Post, and various investments through Bezos Expeditions.

The fund supported French Polynesia’s 2025 designation of 520,000 square kilometres as a highest protection marine reserve, covered in Field Notes.
