Steve Backshall.

Steve Backshall is an English naturalist, explorer, television presenter and writer, born 21 April 1973, best known for the BBC’s long-running Deadly… wildlife series.

Backshall has led and participated in numerous televised expeditions for the BBC, including Lost Land of the Tiger, Lost Land of the Volcano and Lost Land of the Jaguar, combining fieldwork with conservation storytelling. He has also presented Deadly Dinosaurs and Expedition with Steve Backshall for the channel Dave, alongside work for National Geographic and Discovery. His writing includes The Falcon Chronicles, a four-book adventure fiction series for children, three adult non-fiction titles, and a range of children’s natural history books. His career spans field exploration, species documentation and public engagement with the natural world, making him one of Britain’s most recognised voices in wildlife broadcasting.
