Midland Valley is an unincorporated area in Aiken County, South Carolina, comprising several communities including Gloverville, Graniteville, Langley, Vaucluse, Warrenville, Bath and the incorporated town of Burnettown.
The region is more formally known as the Horse Creek Valley, named after the large stream within the Savannah River watershed that carved the valley through the Sandhills. The area’s geography reflects the broader landscape patterns of South Carolina’s interior, where waterways have shaped both the terrain and the settlement patterns of the communities that developed along their courses. Horse Creek’s role in forming this distinctive valley landscape illustrates the ongoing influence of fluvial processes on the topography of the southeastern United States.
