University of Colorado.

The University of Colorado is a public university system in the US state of Colorado, comprising four campuses: Boulder, Colorado Springs, Denver and Anschutz Medical Campus.

Governed by a nine-member elected board of regents, the system is led by president Todd Saliman. The Boulder campus, the flagship institution, has been a centre for atmospheric science, space research and environmental studies since the mid-twentieth century, with strong ties to federal laboratories and field programmes in the Rocky Mountains. Researchers affiliated with the university have contributed to climate observation, alpine ecology and polar science. The system’s proximity to national parks, wilderness areas and high-altitude terrain has made it a base for fieldwork in glaciology, wildlife biology and earth systems research.
