The Trump.

The Trump (1932–1955) was an Australian-bred Thoroughbred racehorse who won the Caulfield Cup and Melbourne Cup double in 1937. He also claimed two other Group One races that same year.

The horse demonstrated unusual versatility across race distances, winning over courses ranging from six furlongs to two miles. This adaptability across sprint and endurance events marked him as an exceptional competitor in Australian racing during the 1930s. The Caulfield–Melbourne Cup double, completed within three weeks each spring, remains one of thoroughbred racing’s most demanding achievements, requiring a horse to maintain peak form across both middle-distance contests.

The Trump appears in Field Notes: A rare crocodile in Côte d’Ivoire, five Himalayan pit vipers.
