The Arctic Cowboys are an elite team of endurance kayakers who made history in 2023 by becoming the first to navigate the entire Northwest Passage solely by human power within a single season. 🌊 The 2023 Northwest Passage Expedition

Departing from Baffin Bay on July 18, 2023, the Arctic Cowboys embarked on their ambitious journey westward through the treacherous waters of the Northwest Passage. Over the course of 83 days, they paddled through icy straits, navigated around icebergs, and faced extreme Arctic conditions without any motorized assistance or sails. Their expedition concluded successfully on October 8, 2023, upon reaching the Beaufort Sea, the recognized western boundary of the passage.

  • First-ever human-powered, single-season kayak traversal of the Northwest Passage.
