Paul Rosolie is an American conservationist, author and founder of Junglekeepers, a nonprofit organisation working to protect rainforest in Peru’s Madre de Dios region.
Rosolie has dedicated his career to conservation efforts in the Peruvian Amazon, particularly in the southeastern Madre de Dios region where primary rainforest faces ongoing threats from logging, gold mining and agricultural expansion. His 2014 memoir, Mother of God, recounted his early fieldwork in the area, while his 2026 book Junglekeeper chronicles the development of Junglekeepers, the organisation he established to secure and monitor threatened forest tracts through on-the-ground ranger patrols, land acquisition and community partnerships. The model relies on local employment and direct protection rather than remote advocacy, aiming to create a replicable template for rainforest defence in high-pressure zones.
