Sky News is a British free-to-air television news channel and live-streaming news network owned by Sky Group, a division of Comcast.
Launched as a 24-hour service, Sky News distributes content across television platforms, its website, YouTube, Apple TV and mobile devices, as well as through an English-language radio news service that supplies national and international coverage to commercial and community stations in the UK and worldwide. The channel has won the Royal Television Society News Channel of the Year award 17 times, including seven consecutive wins through 2024. Sky News operates international variants including Sky News International, available across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, Asia Pacific and the Americas, and Sky News Arabia, a joint venture with Abu Dhabi Media Investment Corporation. Sky News Australia, once part-owned by the UK parent company, severed ties in 2018 and will rebrand as News24 in 2026 following the expiration of its licensing agreement.
