Thoppumpady is a neighbourhood in Kochi, a coastal city in Kerala, southern India.
The area sits at a critical junction in Kochi’s geography, linked to Willingdon Island by the Thoppumpady Bridge. Willingdon Island itself is an artificial landmass created in the 1930s from material dredged during the development of Kochi’s harbour, and now houses the city’s port facilities and naval base. The bridge thus connects Thoppumpady to both maritime infrastructure and the Fort Kochi peninsula beyond, placing the neighbourhood within the web of waterways, islands and reclaimed land that defines Kochi’s structure. The name is rendered in Malayalam as തോപ്പുമ്പാടി.
